HEATHROW TERMINAL CHANGES
 
More than 50 airlines are changing terminals at Heathrow in the near future.
Matrix Travel will have the correct information on your itinerary, but a

This shows all the relevant terminals of every airline.
 


From 2009, the UKGovernment will require Advanced Passenger Informationfor all passengers travelling internationally into andout of the UK. This is being rolled out over the comingyear.

Advance PassengerInformation means providing certain information to theauthorities before passengers travel, such as passportdetails and, where necessary, contactinformation.  

Currently AdvancePassenger Information is required for travel to and fromthe following countries before their flight:

Bermuda
Canada
Caribbean
China
India
Japan
Kenya
Mexico
Spain
SouthAfrica
Thailand
United Arab Emirates
USA


Additionally, from 4 March2009, there will be a requirement in the UK to provideAdvance Passenger Information when travelling to andfrom:

Malta
Turkey

Below is alist of the information required:

Full givennames
Surname
Gender
Nationality
Date of birth
Travel document number e.g.passport number
Travel document expiry date
Travel document country ofissue

Staff at check-in desks will be able to collectAPI data but passengers are strongly advised to supplythe information prior to arrival at the airport or at acheck-in kiosk where available, providing they hold amachine readable passport.

USA Visa Regulations

Regarding entry intothe United States: The Department of HomelandSecurity has introduced a new policy which came into force as of 12January 2009. Please inform all of your clients aboutthis new policy that will affect any travel involvingentering/stopping in the United States (flights,cruises, etc).

All foreign nationals from any ofthe Visa Waiver Program (VWP)* nations must obtain anelectronic travel authorisation before arriving in theUnited States through the ESTA system (Electronic Systemfor Travel Authorization). Visit
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov to view participating countries andfill out the form.

Clients will then receive oneof the followingresults:
* Authorised
* Not Authorised:in this case the passenger must obtain authorisationthrough an Embassy or Consulate before departing for theUnited States.
* Pending Authorisation: thepassenger must check the ESTA website over the following72 hours.

Once the trip is authorised, passengersreceive an authorisation ID number that will be requiredat airport check-in or upon arrival at aport.

Passengers are responsible for submittingtheir ESTA application and obtaining approval to travelto the United States. VWP CLIENTS WHO DON'T OBTAIN ESTAAPPROVAL WILL LOSE ALL RIGHT TO OBTAIN A REFUND FOR THEHOLIDAY THEY HAVE BOOKED.

AdditionalInformation:
* Requests to travel to the UnitedStates approved by ESTA are valid: for a period of up to2 years or until the passenger's passport has expiredfor multiple entries
* Requests, even whenapproved, do not guarantee entry into the United States:ESTA approvals only authorise passengers to make thejourney to the United States under the terms andconditions of the VWP program (please see
www.cbp.gov/travel for more information).

Minorscan participate in the VWP program only if they have anindividual passport. Registration in parent's passportor passes will not be accepted.
