The Turkish government has announced that British travellers will no longer need visas.
Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara has decided to exempt visa requirements for the UK, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and Poland from 2nd March 2020.
It means these visitors will no longer have to apply online for a tourist visa, which costs $35 (around £27) per person, including children.
Travellers need to be careful when buying insurance for trips to Turkey. Although Turkey is not an EU member state, it is important to know that some insurers include Turkey as eligible for European travel cover, whilst others require travellers to purchase a Worldwide policy to be covered. Therefore, it is crucial that British travellers to Turkey check that their policy covers them before they depart.
